This is Susan Dickson’s 29th year teaching in Round Rock I.S.D.  Mrs. Dickson has been teaching at Grisham Middle School since 1992.  In 1998, she was awarded Teacher of the Year at Grisham Middle School.  In 1999, she was awarded Round Rock ISD Secondary Teacher of the Year for the  entire district.  She has also received the PTA Lifetime Membership award and has been an HEB Excellence In Education Semi-Finalist.

Mrs. Dickson received her B.A. degree in Drama from Trinity University in San Antonio.  She earned her Master’s degree in Drama/Communications from A.C.U. in Abilene, Texas.  She is certified to teach Drama/Theatre, Speech, Language Arts and Special Education for grades 6-12.

She taught high school Theatre in Houston at Spring Woods HS., created a theatre program for children from preschool- 12th grade in Abilene with A.C.T. Theatre, worked with Kenley School for students with learning disabilities, and has worked for Round Rock High School and Grisham Middle School in Round Rock I.S.D.

When time allows, Mrs. Dickson also acts in local theatre performances with Austin Shakespeare Festival, Different Stages, Capitol City Playhouse, Georgetown Palace Theatre and Sam Bass Theatre.

She will be performing in the role of M’Lynn in Steel Magnolias through Oct. 27 at Sam Bass Theatre.

She lives in Austin with her husband, Scott, and her daughter, Miranda.

Susan Dickson is extremely proud of Grisham Theatre students for all of their amazing, award winning work and community service over the past 27 years.  Theatre students always have a home here at Grisham!
